Important: Talk to Buddha is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data and do not track or identify individual users. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.

1. Information We Collect
Talk to Buddha collects very limited information:
- Chat Conversations: Your chat messages are stored locally on your device (e.g., using a local database) for core functionality.
- App Preferences: Meditation sound preferences, onboarding status, and settings are stored locally.
- Usage Count: We track the number of chat interactions locally to enforce freemium limits.
- Purchase Information: In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive your payment details.
2. How We Use Information
We use information solely to:
- Provide AI-powered Buddhist guidance via our model provider’s API.
- Maintain your chat history on your device.
- Remember your app preferences and settings.
- Enforce freemium usage limits.
- Support in-app purchases through Apple’s systems.
3. Sharing and Third Parties
- AI Provider: When you submit a prompt, the content is transmitted to our AI provider to generate a response. Their privacy and data handling terms apply to the content you send to their service.
- Apple: Purchase information (including subscription state) is handled by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or store your payment information.
- No Analytics/Ads SDKs: We do not integrate analytics services, crash reporting SDKs, advertising networks, or social media SDKs.
- No Data Sale: We do not sell or rent your personal data.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your chat history, preferences, and usage counters are stored locally on your device.
- We do not maintain separate cloud servers for your personal data.
- We do not collect precise location, advertising identifiers, or device-level identifiers for tracking.
- You control backups via your device/OS settings (e.g., iCloud backups managed by Apple, if enabled).
5. Your Rights and Controls
- Delete Conversations: Use the in-app delete function to remove chats stored locally.
- Reset Preferences: Clear app data or reinstall the app to reset locally stored settings.
- Uninstall: Deleting the app removes local data from your device.
- Purchase Management: Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings (Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions or App Store > Account).

6. Children’s Privacy
Talk to Buddha is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the app does not require registration or personal data entry.

9. Region-Specific Disclosures
California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by California law. You may contact us for requests related to access or deletion of any data you have shared.
EU/UK (GDPR): Our app is designed to minimize personal data. To the extent GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing is performance of the app’s functionality at your request. You may request deletion of locally stored data via in-app controls and by uninstalling the app.
Tracking Disclosure (Apple App Store): The app does not track users across apps or websites and does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Terms of Service
By using Talk to Buddha, you agree to use the app respectfully and for personal growth. The app is not a substitute for medical, legal, or financial advice. We may update features and policies at any time.
In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel your subscriptions any time in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
- If offered, free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.
- Billing, refunds, and cancellations are handled by Apple.
Acceptable Use
Do not use the service to post or transmit unlawful, harmful, or abusive content. We may suspend access for violations.
